A Student Visitor Permit is required for anyone visiting a student that needs to park in university parking areas for ANY length of time. |

Must be obtained PRIOR to parking in a university parking area at the following locations and times: |

One-Day Business Visitor Permit |

Each Rutgers - New Brunswick/Piscataway department is eligible to receive One-Day Business Visitor Permits to distribute to business visitors |

Designated departmental represenatives distribute the permits |
• |
|
They are not to be used by any Rutgers faculty, staff, or students |
• |

| Non-Affiliate Permit |

These permits are issued to persons whose business is authorized to serve Rutgers such as Student Center vendors, Rutgers Bookstore employees, Campus Ministries that have been sanctioned by the Vice President of Student Affairs, persons who have been hired by departments as consultants, persons who are assisting Rutgers with research, volunteers providing a service to a department, ROTC staff members, persons who are providing a direct service to the University, such as the RU Federal Credit Union. These permits run on a calendar year basis.
The cost of the permit is $128.40 annually, or $64.20 per half year; which includes 7% state sales tax. |

Service contractors/vendors providing a service for the university, who are not affiliated with the university, are sold Service Permits. |

A letter from the hiring department and /or a business card is necessary to register the vehicle |
• |

Cost $10.00 (subject to 7% sales tax) |

Metered Spaces (very limited) |
|
Metered spaces are provided for the convenience of visitors to the university and in certain designated areas for short-term parking intended for official university business. To report a Malfunctioning meter please download the Malfunctioning Meter Report form and submit it either through the mail or in person to: Department of Transportation Services, 55 Commercial Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. |
